Summary of the findings of the EOWW Committee's Survey on Cultural Diversity.

The Faculty's EOWW committee conducted a survey of staff on the issue of workplace cultural diversity in October 2004.

The findings of the survey were in general positive with many staff members commenting on the advantages of working in a very culturally diverse environment. There were however a small number of comments about inappropriate remarks being made about both staff, although more commonly students, from different ethnic backgrounds. In response to these comments the EOWW committee has recommended that the Faculty develop a policy requiring cultural diversity training for new and existing staff.
