Faculty of Economics and Commerce

Research

The Faculty is actively engaged in both pure and applied research and is passionate about educating the researchers of tomorrow through our honours, and research higher degree programs.

Our academic staff are active researchers in all of our main disciplines, with a particular strength in Economics. Staff publish their research widely in leading international and Australian journals and present frequently at international conferences. They are editors and board members of prominent journals and also organise international research conferences at the University. Each of our departments has detailed information about its unique research specialisations:

Research Higher Degrees and Honours

The Faculty offers research and research-oriented programs through the the Melbourne Graduate School of Management, including PhD and Masters degrees. These programs develop students’ advanced theoretical knowledge and research capabilities, in preparation for academic and other research-focused careers.

We also offer the honours year, an additional (fourth) year of specialised study with an emphasis on research and specialised subject areas.
