ISU Service Desk
The Information Systems Unit (ISU) is responsible for the support and development of computer and network infrastructure provided by the Faculty of Economics & Commerce.
There is an ISU Service Desk located next to each of the Specialised Open Access Computing Spaces (Bouverie Street, and Alan Gilbert).
These service desks provide service and support for students, staff and systems supported by the ISU. The Central ISU Service Desk is located at Level 1 Room 116 Economics and Commerce Building.

Logging into Restricted Access Web Pages
For copyright reasons access to some content on subject pages served by the Faculty of Economics and Commerce may be restricted to students enrolled in that particular subject. When trying to access this content you may be prompted for your University username and password. If you are browsing these pages while already logged into an Economics and Commerce lab computer, you may not be required to authenticate again. The login process may be slightly different depending on the browser you are using or where you are logging in from.
The password prompt requires:
Username - this is the first component of your university email account
(Please note that this should be your email account name not the email alias)
Password - this is the password for checking your university email address

Laboratory Login Procedures
Students and staff should use their Windows Active Directory User Account to logon to a computer in an Economics and Commerce Computer Laboratory. This account is the same as your email account.
Visit the following site http://accounts.unimelb.edu.au/ if you want to activate or reset passwords on your accounts.
Starting a computer session in an Economics and Commerce computer Laboratory
Find a free PC, you should see the following Login message box

Press CTRL, ALT, DEL keys at the same time to start the Logon process
Wait until you see the Logon Information screen: Enter your username (Please note that this should be your email account name not the email alias) and password and make sure that the DOMAIN is set to STUDENT then Press the "Enter" key or click OK. For Staff the DOMAIN is set to UNIMELB.
Using software in Economics and Commerce Computing Facility
All software is located in the Start Menu shown, as shown below.
All academically approved software required for the subjects and activities supported by Economics and Commerce is accessible on the computer.
Students are not permitted to alter computer settings in any way.
To finish a laboratory computer session When you have finished at the workstation you should:
Log off: To log off, Click START, SHUTDOWN, select RESTART, click OK
