Welcome to Postgraduate study

Prospective students are invited to a number of postgraduate information sessions throughout the year. More information.

The Faculty of Economics and Commerce offers a wide range of postgraduate degrees and diplomas, catering to a diverse set of needs. Some degrees are designed to meet the needs of practitioners; others are more research-oriented. Some are designed to provide an in-depth understanding of a particular business discipline; others are designed to suit those students wanting to gain a broad overview of a variety of disciplines. The practitioner degrees (Professional Programs) can be completed entirely by coursework. Our research-oriented degrees, including our PhD and Master of Commerce degrees, feature a significant original research component. In addition, we offer an array of Postgraduate and Graduate Diplomas in the Accounting, Economics, Finance and Management areas.

The Faculty is proud of the international reputations of its academic staff members for the breadth and depth of their expertise, their contributions to research, their teaching skills, and their work with businesses, governments, and a diverse set of other organisations and institutions. Students pursuing research degrees can be confident of being led by supervisors at the cutting edge of their disciplines. Students attracted to the practitioner programs will find Faculty members who possess a distinctive blend of academic expertise and practical application.

The quality of our staff is matched by the quality of our students. Our entry standards are high and we are vigilant in maintaining our reputation for excellence. Graduate classes are notable for the diversity of the student population: our students come from across Australia and from countries all around the world. Thank you for considering the postgraduate offerings in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce.

Associate Professor Gregory Whitwell BEc, PhD
